Erik Hollander

Erik Hollander

Erik Hollander was elected to the board in April 2020 and is serving his first term. He currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Business and Director of Strategic Growth and Business Development for the Batterman School of Business at Concordia University Wisconsin. Prior to that, he worked for over 10 years in healthcare (oncology) in a variety of roles (including leadership) and also supports a variety of clients as a Gallup® Certified Strengths Coach.

Erik recently served as a member of the MTSD Community Task Force. He has also served as parent volunteer and Junior Achievement volunteer at Oriole Lane Elementary.

Erik earned a BS in Business Management from Cardinal Stritch University; a MBA from Concordia University Wisconsin in Healthcare Administration; and a doctorate of Education in Organizational Change and Leadership from the Rossier School of Education at the University of Southern California. He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and supports the state WI-ACHE chapter.

Erik and his wife Beth, a MTSD teacher, moved to the Mequon-Thiensville area in 2016 and together have two boys who attend Oriole Lane Elementary.

Akram Khan

Akram Khan

Elected to the board in 2019, Akram Khan and his wife, Ayesha Syed, are longtime residents of Mequon. They have two young children currently on their hero-quest with the help of the district’s best educators at Wilson and Steffen. Akram brings 27 years of strategy planning, sales, and communication experience including 20 years of entrepreneurial adventures.

A graduate of UW-Milwaukee in Finance and Business Administration, Akram has always known that education is the singular key that unlocks enormous human potential. As a director of instruction at Kumon Math & Reading Tutoring Center in Mequon, he has been helping students ages 3 and up unlock their academic potential for the past 11 years.

Chris Schulz

Chris Schultz

Chris Schultz served our school district as a chemistry, AP chemistry and biology teacher at Homestead High School for 17 years, retiring in June 2015. Prior to returning to school to earn her masters degree in chemistry (University of Illinois at Chicago) and teaching certifications (UW Milwaukee), she worked in the food industry as a quality control chemist.

Chris brings collaboration and communication skills and the perspective of an educator to the board. Chris and her husband, a Homestead alumnus, moved to Mequon in 2002. Her family is made up of three adult children and two grandchildren.

Wendy Francour

Wendy Francour

Wendy Francour has been a member of the board of education since 2014. Wendy has over 35 years of experience in sales, marketing and fund development. She presently represents Kellogg’s in a sales capacity.

Wendy has served the school district for more than 20 years in volunteer roles ranging from high stakes committees, advisory boards, task forces, PTO leadership and fundraising.

Wendy received a bachelor of arts in sociology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She and her family have lived in Mequon since 1989. Her daughter attended the district from kindergarten through 12th grade.
